Object description :

"Sterling Silver Masonic Warden's Collar Jewel, Compass And Cornucopia, London 1958"

Sterling silver Masonic jewel, Compass and Cornucopia, Fairway Lodge №7611, 1958, by Ernest Pobjoy, London

This beautifully crafted heavy sterling silver Masonic jewel features the traditional Compass and Cornucopia motif, symbolising abundance, prosperity, and moral virtue. Modelled with fine detail, the jewel displays clusters of grapes, fruits, and foliage, framed within an intricately textured compass.

The reverse is inscribed:
"Presented to Fairway Lodge № 7611 by Bro. E. Strudwick, 1st Steward."
Fairway Lodge №7611, based in Sussex, England, was constituted in 1958.

The jewel bears the maker's mark for Ernest Pobjoy of London, a respected mid-20th-century silversmith known for producing high-quality Masonic regalia and ceremonial pieces. Pobjoy specialised in crafting detailed silver jewels, collars, and insignia for Masonic lodges across England, particularly during the post-war period.

Made entirely from solid sterling silver, including the integral hanging loop, this ceremonial jewel would have been worn during lodge meetings, investitures, and Masonic ceremonies. It remains a striking piece of fraternal regalia, ideal for collectors of Masonic antiques, silver memorabilia, or historic regalia.

Handmade using traditional silversmithing techniques, the piece combines durability with refined detail, capturing the spirit of mid-20th century English Masonic craftsmanship.
