Superb and large Italian gouache from the end of the 18th century representing a landscape animated by characters and other imaginary ruins, in front of a smoking volcano which could be Vesuvius. Presented in its 18th century frame with heart stripes and pearls to be restored. In good condition with nevertheless 2 stains to report (visible on 1 photo).
