Maurice Frydman is a Franco-Belgian artist, born in Paris in 1928 and died in Brussels in 2023.
He was a draftsman, painter, sculptor and graphic designer. He studied at the Grande Chaumière in Paris (1947-1952). In 1955, he moved to Brussels. He found his inspiration in the forms of the human body, generally synthesized in a monumental way. The artist allowed himself to be absorbed by new research focused on the sublimation of the body, declined in matrix wall compositions on free or three-dimensional sheets. He led his transition from figuration to abstraction through the medium of plastic and polyester, stretched, knotted, torn, burst and finally mastered in many variations. He also worked as a bronze sculptor.
