"Chancay Statuette Peru 1100 To 1400 Ad "
Statuette showing a priestess sitting with her hands open to the sky as a sign of appeal to divine forces. Her head has a ritual deformation, covered with a veil indicating her function. She wears a poncho, a belt around her waist and on her back a bag intended to contain medicinal plants. Two teardrop-shaped fibulas are placed on her shoulders and two linear pendants adorn her torso. Tears painted under her eyes with an ecstatic gaze indicate that she is under the effect of a powerful hallucinogen. Beige and white terracotta with black decoration, very slight surface wear, marks of time, good general condition of conservation, see photos.
