Double-sided Minister's desk from the 1900s in solid mahogany in the Louis XVI style with 2 pulls decorated with gilded bronzes with children's decoration. Parisian work from the house "Mercier frères". Total length with pulls 2m75. Mercier Frères Décoration was a decoration, upholstery and furniture manufacturer company, located at 100 Faubourg Saint-Antoine, in Paris. It was created in 1828 by André Mercier and closed in 1985. Specializing in period furniture, it supplied many European and oriental courts and particularly the imperial family of Iran. Notable eventsIt participated in the Universal Exhibition of 1867, then, with a small pavilion, in that of 1900. It then published a plan of the attractions of the exhibition. In 1914, it opened a branch in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and in 1920 a store, the Palais de Marbre, at 77 Avenue des Champs-Élysées. In 1927, it opened a branch in New York, at 59th Street.
