Ink Pot Or Snuff Bottle, Carved Hard Stone China 19th C, Silver Mounting Maquet, 20th C

Very nice covered pot, for ink or tobacco. In hard, semi-precious stone, it is entirely sculpted, 4 children hanging on the edges and a character sitting on the lid. French mounting in engraved silver, probably later, well signed "Maquet Paris Nice Made in France" and hallmark inside. The silver and vermeil pedestal, round base decorated with foliage and flower scrolls, is ornate with 3 receptacles, allowing the feet to be inserted.
Good general condition, however a break on the arm as well as a crack in the stone. Well noted on my detailed photos, thank you for looking at them carefully, I am not hiding anything!
Chinese working for the sculpture, and French for the mounting, dating from the second part of the 19th century and early 20th century.
