These pieces of stone served as a base for the support posts of the framework in stables, in barns or in barns.
These stone dice had several uses; They prevented the feet of the beams from resting on the ground and rotting on damp ground, and, being solid, they protected the beams from the wheels of carts as they passed.
Many show wear on their corners, evidence of their use.
