"19th Century Pair Of Italian Landscape With Putti Pair Of Cherub Paintings Oil On Wood"
19th Century Pair of Putti Oil Paintings on Wood, set of two walnut panels depicting woodland landscapes with cherubs playing of Italian origin. This set of two antique Italian putti Baroque style paintings dates back to mid 19th century and is in good age related condition with a few small old woodworm holes, as most of antique wooden panels, they are old but anyway both paintings have been disinfected.
Set in modern giltowood frames, they come from a Lombard private collection.
The figure of the putto, traditionally linked to a childlike conduct of life, allegorically enhances the everyday life happiness and beauty, obtainable from concrete elements around us. In these pair of panels the cherubs depicted are playing placidly within a woodland landscape
