Paul Philippe (1870-1930) studied at the Berlin Academy of Art and moved to Paris in 1900. He settled in the Cité des Fusains, an artists' colony in Montmartre, where Derain, Renoir and later Miro, Magritte and Dali stayed.
He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français between 1902 and 1909, and enjoyed great success with his sculpture “L'éveil” in 1907.
He enjoyed great success with his art deco creations, tirelessly depicting feminine beauty and elegance.
