Large Straw Marquetry Painting "hunting" 1820

Description:

This very beautiful work represents a lively scene of hunting with hounds in an imaginary Italian landscape. In the foreground, the hunters approach the bank of the river, the deer comes out of the water on the opposite side.
We will note ancient ruins, a pyramid, a city in the background at the foot of mountains. A radiant sun fills the sky, the reflections of the rays "turn" depending on the point of view.
A wide-brimmed frame is elegantly decorated with friezes.
The luminous reflection of the straw radiates on the painting and the frame according to the light. The size is important for a straw marquetry and is rarely found in a painting, usually they are in ornamentation of an object or piece of furniture.
The hunters' outfit corresponds to the end of the 18th or the beginning of the 19th century, which allows us to date this work, the landscape being treated in a way close to the 17th century, bringing this scene closer to the spirit of an old painted painting, which is particularly rare in straw marquetry; it can be one  masterpiece of straw marquetry.

Condition:
Exceptional condition for this technique, no peeling or missing parts, except for a few tiny shrinkage chips around the edge.
