JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868) Samurai Yari spear. Wooden shaft, the last quarter decorated with a braided and gilded rope sabot, metal rings and finely burgauté. Straight "Ho" spear blade with a diamond-shaped section and double-edged (significant oxidation), it is protected by a brown lacquered magnolia saya (wear). At the other end a black lacquered metal cap "Hirumaki" to protect the shaft from damage by contact with the ground. Dimensions: 215 x 5 x 3 cm.
