"Exceptional Pine Cone Vase, Enameled By The Hand Of Paul Nicolas, Daum Galle Era"
Exceptional vase with pine cones made by the hand of Paul Nicolas. Although we are of course aware of the quality of work of this illustrious glassmaker, we very rarely find pieces made by his hand at the end of his life. The pieces etched with acid in his workshops in Nancy or Saint-Louis (signature D'argental, D'argental SL or even Paul Nicolas) are made under his supervision but by his workers. At the end of his life (period 1945-1952), Paul Nicolas made some pieces by his hand. They were no longer made with acid etching but enameled with a brush by his own hand. This vase is a rare example and certainly a very beautiful collector's item for any lover of artistic glassware. It is in perfect condition (no enamel chips), of a large size for this type of vase (25 cm high and 17 cm in diameter). Signed "P Nicolas" in black enamel, around 1950. Unique piece.
