"Terracotta Hunting Dog Signed E Fremiet – 19th Century."
Beautifully realistic sculpture of this hunting dog lying on its side on a sloping mound. The head with long drooping ears is raised and expressive with its folds at the level of the forehead and its lips. It is dressed in a mantle stapled to the top of the back. Its tail comes back nicely to the front while blending with the twigs of grass. Signature of E FREMIET on the front right side. Stamp of E FREMIER on the back Good condition. We note just a small piece of the right front leg very slightly trimmed.
