"Desvres Earthenware Salad Bowl "long Live The Mayor" 18th Century."
Desvres earthenware salad bowl indicating "Long live the mayor" produced over a very short period around Year I of the revolutionary calendar. The Carnavalet Museum has in its collections a model whose manufacturing process is similar: hand-formed gaudrons revealing the imprint of a finger on the reverse, yellowish enamel on the back, blue festoon decoration, republican-inspired message with identical typography. Some chips to the enamel on the edge but in very satisfactory condition.
