""saint Joan Of Arc" Bronze, Artist's Proof By Albert Marius Patrisse Circa 1943."
Rare bronze with green patina by Albert Marius Patrisse, a sculptor from Valenciennes known for his Art Deco inspiration and his refined and symbolic representations. He produced this work in very few copies following an order for the Sainte Jeanne d'Arc de la Mutualité church in Saint-Denis. The stone model found there is entitled "La Vocation". The artist shows originality and places this character from the history of France in a more solemn register than usual. The holy woman appears in a dress and clogs, holding a sword planted in the ground in one hand, the other making a sign. She seems to be in adoration, her face and gaze oriented towards the sky. The artist's signature and the "artiste's proof" and "lost wax" stamps are visible on the base. Perfect condition.
