"Christofle Art Deco Boreal Model Cutlery Set "
Christofle Art Deco cutlery set Boreal model, 187 pieces. It is rare to find so many pieces of cutlery together and in one piece of furniture ! The piece of furniture is very sober, in solid and varnished beech wood. The four legs are slightly arched which lightens the silhouette. It has five drawers with central locking with a single key. Each drawer is easy to open because it has two thin bronze handles on each side. This arrangement makes it easier to handle compared to a single central handle. The Boreal model was created by Luc Lanel (1893 - 1965) in 1929. This designer is the designer of almost all of the Art Deco pieces from the Christofle house. The sobriety of the Boreal model makes it appear astonishingly modern. The slender and flared handles are slitly curved and highlighted by two flat areas all along which widen as they descend in order to accentuate the flared appearance. They are cut straight across with broken corners. In all of Luc Lanel's creations, only the America model has a real resemblance, except that the flat parts go around the handle instead of stopping at the corners. The silver platef cutlery set that we are offering you is in very good condition and has a beautiful shine. Some pieces have micro-scratches without any aesthetic detriment.
