"Mathieu Matégot "plant Holder 1953" + René Mathieu Wall Light For Lunel ~1950. Guariche, Adnet"
Beautiful set from the 1950s/1955s comprising: - a very pretty plant stand by Mathieu Matégot, circa 1953 in black lacquered metal for the base, green, yellow and red for the planters. Typical shape of three intertwined and crossed rods of different heights where 3 planters in expanded and openwork sheet metal are fixed. This plant stand was created in 1953, Matégot will adapt this shape on several models, in wall plant stands, some ending with a floor lamp (see last photo) etc... The paint is entirely original, in good condition, some traces of use but no serious oxidation, no repainting, no accident or restoration. Height: 121cm Price of this plant holder alone: €680 + an interesting light fixture by René Mathieu for Lunel, a wall light in black lacquered metal and brass parts, adjustable and swiveling with a bail cover mounted on a ball joint. Made around 1950, René Mathieu made it with different lampshades. This one is offered without its original lampshade, but it is very easy to have one remade, I could also give a contemporary lampshade that can be adapted, you just have to add a smaller diameter ring. Entirely original wall light, in very good condition. Length deployed: 90cm Period guarantee. Price of this wall light alone: €290 Or €890 for the 2 pieces.
