Bouty: Very Heavy (163 Gr) And Large Solid Silver Cup From The End Of The 18th Century.

Superb and very heavy 18th century cup in solid silver.

The cup rests on a gadrooned pedestal.

It is in plain silver with a rocaille cartouche numbered MJ (?).
This cartouche is most likely a later addition from the second half of the 19th century.

The lip is highlighted with partially worn threads.

The cup is hallmarked:
. Charge mark: A for Paris between 1789 and 1792
. Date letter: P with the year 89
. Goldsmith's mark LJMB with a star for Louis-Joseph Bouty, known as Milleraud Bouty. Master's mark in 1779
. Illegible discharge mark

Superb cup, of very beautiful dimensions and with a substantial weight of 163 grams!
