Soufflot: Superb Art Nouveau Solid Silver And Gilt-gilt Salad Serving Set, C 1900

Superb Art Nouveau solid silver salad servers by the great goldsmith Henri Soufflot.

The spatulas have a rather classic crossed ribbon decoration, covered with naturalistic laurel leaves rising towards the handle, more characteristic of Art Nouveau.
The handle with strong threads, marked at the top with a molding of crossed ribbons, ends at the back of the spoon with a bouquet of acanthus leaves.

The back of the spatulas is numbered MV (?).

The spoon and the fork are in silver gilt.

The cutlery comes in a case in the name of the dealer "Meyer & Lévy", in Paris.

Each piece is hallmarked:
. Minerva 1st title before 1973 for solid silver 950/°°
. Goldsmith's hallmark: HS with a rising sun and a star for Henri Soufflot, active from 1884 to 1910

Magnificent salad server in solid silver with a charming and elegant decoration between classicism and Art Nouveau. It is a heavy production, of quality, as always with great goldsmiths like Henri Soufflot.

Very good condition. Micro scratch from use and wear of the vermeil which is very pale.
