Port furniture probably from La Rochelle, very early 18th century or perhaps late 17th century. Exceptional Louis XIV center table in solid Cuban Mahogany and Gaïac for the turned baluster base as well as the 4 balls of the lower legs placed on the ground. Connecting these 4 legs, a mahogany spacer, scalloped in an X supports in its center a magnificent removable spinning top of the period and also in Gaïac. A large drawer in the belt, mounted with dovetail, in fir with a Mahogany front dressed with very beautiful period ironwork, ring, lock entry, lock with key also of the period. Table topped with a Mahogany top molded with a corbin beak mounted with an undoweled frame and fixed to the base by 3 false tenons doweled to the 3 belt crosspieces (work and manufacture typical of this period). Table in perfect condition, having undergone no restoration and entirely period.
