Louis XV Period Sloping Desk

Louis XV sloping desk in rosewood veneer, resting on 4 arched legs. It opens with a rosewood veneered flap in butterfly wings, revealing an interior composed of 5 drawers, two compartments and a sliding cover.

The writing part slightly set back from the base rests on 4 slightly concave crosspieces. The front crosspiece has two drawers.

Beautiful gilded bronze ornamentation.

Work from the Louis XV period.

Our desk is similar to the work of André Antoine Lardin, master cabinetmaker active from 1750. A desk similar in its construction, particularly in the structure of the furniture and in the cutting of the front crosspiece is reproduced in the last two photos.
