Large Pewter Wine Bottle - Toulouse, 18th Century

Large pewter BOTTLE called "plongeon" with an ovoid body, short foot and long neck closing with a screw cap topped with a ring. It is fitted with two swinging side rings with a base in the shape of an almond.
Height: 43.5 cm.
TOULOUSE, 18th century

Superb quality and condition, offering a very beautiful decorative presence.
The neck unscrews at the middle part, a technical improvement facilitating cleaning.
These bottles were often immersed in the well in order to cool the wine there.
