Always in search of modernity, he moved closer, at the end of his career, to the bright and bold color style of Paul Gauguin and the Pont-Aven School. With his friends Lucien Pissarro, Maximilien Luce and Cavallo-Peduzzi, Léo Gausson founded the "Lagny Group". This gathering of neo-impressionist artists is a cultural driving force for the town of Lagny, where they organize painting exhibitions from 1900.
