"Louis XV Period Gold And Painting Dance Card"
18th century tablet case. Flat, rectangular in shape, it has a finely chiseled gold frame with arabesques and flowers. It opens with a hinge to reveal its riveted tablets and its small pencil. The upper panels are decorated with the words Souvenir d'Amitié on a red guilloche background. The lower covers are decorated on both sides with seated and drinking cupids and cupids playing music while training a small white dog. The medallions are executed in gouache. The gold backgrounds are enhanced with garlands of green laurels and red flowers. They are signed Perron. Hallmarks: Charge: fleur de bassinet 1768-1775 Discharge: helmeted head throat to the right 1768-1774 Master Goldsmith: Pierre François Drais.
