"High-backed Regency Armchair, Circa 1720"
Imposing high-backed armchair from the Regency period in waxed and patinated natural wood, early 18th century. This very beautiful harmoniously molded seat is decorated with cross-shaped sculptures on the top of the back as well as an ornamentation of acanthus leaves. The legs are finished with a shell sculpture. The x-shaped spacer has a floral decoration in its center, the latter was redone at the beginning of the 19th century. The seat, as well as the velvet covering fabric with plant motifs, are both in good condition. The whole is in very good house condition. Small classic wear at the ends of the legs, some old traces of woodworms. Superb patina for this comfortable, solid armchair with very harmonious proportions.
