Oil on cardboard signed lower right. Naïve Art Paris Les halles Baltard. We can see the restaurant Au père tranquille which was in front of the Bltard halls before they were destroyed in 1971. The Halles were built on the house of the Pithou Brothers by Bataille, Périsse and Moisant, in the pure Baltard style which combines iron, cast iron and glass. Ten pavilions were built between 1852 and 1870, the construction of the last two was completed in 1936. They were demolished in 1971 and 1973 to allow the construction of the RER station and the Forum des Halles.
