Roger Allain (1920-1992) "Les girolles" Oil on canvas signed lower right. Dim. 41 X 33 cm without frame. Born in Annemasse and died in Houston, Texas Parisian painter, former student graduated from the Arts et Métiers, Arts Industriels and Beaux-Arts schools of Geneva in 1939, member of the Salons des Indépendants and de l'Art Libre in Paris. He exhibited in many Parisian galleries after the Liberation; then emigrated to the United States in the 60s; settled in New York, he specialized in the restoration of furniture and paintings, while continuing to paint gigantic frescoes, portraits of families and children, and trompe-l'oeil.
