"Pair Of Blue And White Lotus Dishes - China 18th Century Kangxi Period"
A pair of polylobed porcelain dishes decorated in blue and white with lotus flowers in a central medallion, also featuring prunus flowers. The rim is also decorated with lotus flowers in cartouches on a blue background decorated with prunus flowers.The reverse of the dishes is decorated with Buddhist attributes in the border.
On the reverse, a ‘Qi Yu bao ding zhi zhen’ mark within a double circle.
This mark can be translated as ‘Precious as a Rare Jade Ding’.
China 18th century
Kangxi period (1661-1722)
Diameter: 26.2cm
Although these two dishes are not identical, they nevertheless form a broadly comparable ensemble. They are identical in size, although the decorations on the two dishes vary.
Perfect condition, although there are brown spots on the left-hand dish due to firing.
