"Bouquet of Anemones"
Oil on canvas,
Signed lower right,
Bright and great work by the painter Louis Bonamici which represents a bouquet of flowers, certainly anemones, in a glazed earthenware pot from Provence. The artist who is used to representing seascapes or landscapes, offers us here a rare sunny still life.
A fan of knife painting, Louis Bonamici strives to render the warm colors of Provence through scenes of ports and daily life. His works are produced in a harmony of bright colors, his paint impasto giving relief to his works, forcing visitors to step back to contemplate them.
He was appointed official painter of the Navy in 1921.
