Silver thangka (without titration) embossed, sealed with a copper plate with the double vajra (Viśvavajra, vajra of the universe) which marks its completion. Yamāntaka is the wrathful aspect of Mañjushrî, bodhisattva of wisdom. He thus embodies the non-dual wisdom which puts an end to the dualistic fragmentation of phenomena linked to ignorance. Yamāntaka is also known under the aspect of Vajrabhairava (Diamond Terror). Tibet, early 20th century.
