"Large Art Nouveau Planter, Raphaël Charles Peyre."
Raphael Charles Peyre (1872-1949), imposing Art Nouveau iris planter, in bronze with green and brown patina. Scene distributed in three cartouches probably depicting the allegory of spring or summer through a young woman discovering a wild iris plant, picking it and putting it in a vase. Beautiful example in an atypical format, bringing together the fundamental codes of the movement: Plants and nature are brought back to the center of modern life while form takes over the entire object. “The design of the latter must above all serve the function”. These precepts are completely met in the aesthetics and the presence of the three handles of this planter, essential for its handling (29 kg). Typical work by Peyre: His favorite subjects are mainly allegorical and symbolic… H 48 cm x 40 CM overall. Weight 29 KG Delivery: By carrier, packed and secured on a mini pallet.
