Brass camera lucida in its original solid wood box. Signed in hollow in the brass "Fialon ou Fialou?" And dated 1859. Optical instrument used in the 19th century by landscapers and designers to "copy nature". It was invented by an English chemist and physicist in 1804. Used condition for the box, crack and missing a closing hook. Good condition for the camera lucida, see on a photo a part with a gray solder mark, maybe a missing part?
