The painting shows a composition in which Bartolomé de las Casas, a famous Spanish missionary and friar known for his passionate defense of the humanity and dignity of the American Indians, subjects of the Spanish crown at the beginning of the 16th century, assists a dying man in a presumably Aztec context. - Dimensions of the image without frame: 34 x 25 cm / 50 x 41 cm with frame - From a private collection in Madrid. - Good general condition.
