Pair of carved lime cherubs, reversed (left right) Louis XIV period 17th century. The cherubs are represented with their wings spread, dressed in a drape, their heads turned each to the opposite side and one arm raised upwards. Traces of original gilding and polychromy, the cherubs retain their period wrought iron fixing. (The wings of a cherub were formerly redone in the 19th century) This pair of cherubs are architectural sculptures from the 17th century, probably originally part of an altarpiece or an interior of the period. Louis XIV period 17th century.
