These pieces are finely crafted with soft, lined silk, and end with an elegant tailcoat cutout, decorated with silk pompoms. Description and Symbols: 1. First banner: • Inscriptions: “Tu es Petrus” – Meaning “You are Peter”, a reference to the biblical passage from the Gospel according to Saint Matthew, chapter 16, verse 18: “And I say to you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church”. This passage evokes the divine investiture of the apostle Peter as head of the Catholic Church. • Symbol of the keys: The two crossed keys, symbols of Saint Peter, represent the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, as described in the same biblical passage: “I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 16:19).
