Note: the artist exhibited a work entitled Interior of the chapel of Kermaria-Nisquit (Côtes-du-Nord) at the 1872 Salon, under the number 298. The work is signed G. Chardin and not P. Chardin. Perhaps this is a late work by the painter Gabriel-Gervais Chardin (Paris, 1814 – Paris, 1907), which he would have dedicated to his colleague and namesake Paul Chardin, who had painted this subject, hence the dedication...
