Angel Of The Passion Sculpted In High Relief End Of The 17th Century

Large walnut panel carved in high relief dating from the end of the 17th century representing an angel of the passion holding a palm.
The sculpture is very deep in very high relief highlighting a completely detached arm and hand as well as a large part of the face.
Note the quality of the sculpture of the drapery, the face and the hair.
This panel must have been formerly painted.
It was slightly attacked by wood-eating insects but was completely treated with xylophene in the workshop.
There are no more insect attacks.
Beautiful old patina in blond walnut color.
