Amazing Portrait Of A Toothless Breton Woman Wearing The Pont-aven Headdress By Ludo Cuyer
Artist: Ludovic Cuyer (actif Au Xxème)
I don't know the name of this woman with the red complexion and missing teeth, but there's no doubt that her broad smile and jovial air promised to spend a moment of frank laughter as was possible in Brittany at the beginning of the 20th century.
The painter Ludovic Cuyer must have put down his palette and canvas in one of the many bistros of Pont-Aven as Gauguin had done a generation before.
Our woman represented here wears the costume of Pont-Aven in Finistère (29) in Brittany and was probably painted around 1920.
To be cleaned.
