Genre painter, born in 1872 - died in 1948 Victor Marais-Milton was born in Puteaux, west of Paris, on the Seine. At the beginning of his career, he lived in Paris, then moved to Sèvres where he remained until his death. He studied in the studio of Jonchère, but was also associated with Ernest Meissonnier, who, by the end of his career, had become a master of genre painting and a source of inspiration for many artists, while working as a teacher in his own studio for the École des Beaux-Arts.
