"Architectural Ruins With Marina, By Hans De Jode"
Hans (or Jan) de Jode settled in Vienna around 1659. He had first passed through Italy and admired the paintings of Salvator Rosa, Codazzi and Ghisolfi, and was influenced by them. De Jode's paintings are dominated by an exhilarating pictorial imagination, characterized by a fluid and fast brushstroke. In Verona you can see two works by maestro de Jode in the Castelvecchio museum.
