This beautiful painting represents Moses saved from the waters. This biblical episode shows Moses, then a newborn, pulled out of the Nile by the daughter of the Pharaoh (Exodus 2, 1-10.). This subject was taken up by many famous painters, such as Simon Vouet, Charles Le Brun and Nicolas Poussin. It is found particularly in Venetian painting with Tintoretto, Veronese and Titian.
