Biography:
Friedrich GORNIK 1877 / 1943
Born in Carinthia, Austria, Gornik studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Vienna. He became known for his studies of animals with a view to their execution in ceramics and made sketches for vases, cups, etc. He executed a number of animal sculptures in bronze and plaster groups. A group of horses, Trolka, executed in bronze by the founder Arthur Rubinstein, was purchased by the Emperor of Austria.
He also executed works representing human beings: Quarrels of young people, Departure of dragons on horseback, etc.
