This exceptional polychrome sculpture, created by the artist Corneille Guillaume Van Beverloo, in 2003 entitled "the yellow woman, the bird and the cat",

Embodying both the power and softness of his favorite themes: the woman and the cat. Corneille was born in Liège to Dutch parents, attended classes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam, co-founder of the Cobra movement, he always knew how to imbue his works with strong symbolism, where the woman represents the earth and the cat a mysterious companion, a symbol of femininity and elegance.
 
The sculpture is imbued with the artist's expressive and vibrant style, with bright colors and dynamic shapes, typical of his artistic language.

His influences of surrealism and abstraction combine here in a figurative work full of life and energy.

After exploring various continents, notably Africa and Latin America, Corneille turned to figuration, infusing his creations with a rich and captivating lyricism.
 
Corneille worked at the border of painting, sculpture and aquagravure, developing techniques that amplify the expression of his work.
