Uniform bindings of the period in full glazed and marbled brown sheepskin, double blind-stamped fillet framing the covers, ribbed spines decorated with blind-stamped fat fillets, double gilt framing boxes, large gilt fleurons, mahogany morocco title and volume labels, gilt title, gilt volume, gilt palette at the tail, double gilt fillet on the edges, salmon-coloured edges. First edition. Complete set of the three volumes constituting it. Copy containing a rare series of 60 portraits engraved by Mellan, Mignard, Vaillant, Rigaud, etc.; placed in large rocaille frames. The iconography is completed by three large engraved figurative bands (one has been redacted) as well as a frontispiece at the head of the first volume.
