Object description :

"Mahogany Console Attributed To Jacob Frères, With Inventory Number."
Of beautiful dimensions, this console dating from the end of the Empire or the beginning of the Restoration is in solid mahogany and mahogany burl veneer. This model is undoubtedly attributed to Jacob Frères, some of whose strictly identical models stamped Jacob Frères rue Meslée were presented by various French auction houses. This console offers a powerful visual thanks to these proportions but especially thanks to these two lion claw legs deeply carved in mahogany which come to rest on a thick hollowed base resting on sausage skates. The belt opening with a large drawer rests on the front jambs which are carved with scrolls and long and wide lotus leaves covering the rounded part of the consoles, the rear uprights also of large section are treated as pilasters. Built in oak, the drawer is also entirely mounted in oak, perfect manufacturing quality, no lack, all the strips are present, no veneer jump, this piece of furniture is in very good house condition, with its old varnish. The console is topped with a thick veined white marble, formerly broken and restored, in a very discreet manner. The underside of the marble bears a stencilled inventory mark in red, an inventory mark in ink, also stencilled, is visible on the top of the console but remains indecipherable. Identical model stamped Jacob frères rue Meslée: September 12, 2020 at Conan Belleville in Lyon December 15, 2009 at Artcurial Identical model attributed to Jacob Desmalter June 24, 2007 at Cuvreau Expertise in Herm Dimensions of the marble: Height: 93 cm Width: 132 cm Depth: 47 cm
