Our work represents the Banks of the Garonne, it bears the signature at the bottom left Y.PRADELLES Original gilded wooden frame, bears a cartouche of the Society of Friends of the Arts of Bordeaux on the back signature and exhibition numbers (5) Hippolyte Pradelles was a French landscape painter. Frame 95/80 HST. 74.5/59.5 cm. Initially a draftsman and watercolourist, Pradelles then turned to painting, producing mainly regional landscapes but also genre and military scenes. He joined forces with Louis-Augustin Auguin, Jean-Baptiste Corot and Gustave Courbet to form the short-lived Port-Berteau group in 1862 until 1863. Pradelles and Auguin settled in Bordeaux from 1863, where Pradelles set up a studio and trained other artists.
