Wooden tebako box covered with gold lacquer decoration and the maki-e method of sprinkling metal particles on the still wet lacquer. The decoration shows stylized vine leaves (?).

Japan, Edo/Meiji period, 19th century.

Length 18 cm, width 14 cm, height 15 cm.

Relatively good condition, some rubbing and cracks present.
