Storage jar with 4 eyelet handles, in light stoneware with brownish glaze. Thailand, Sawankhalok/Si Sachanalai kilns, 15th/16th century (Late Sukhothai period). Sawankhalok ceramics were at the center of an important trade from the 14th century, which quickly intensified with Indonesia in particular. These pieces come from underwater wrecks discovered off the Malaysian and Indonesian coasts, which is why they are dotted with concretions.
