"Sterling Silver Cup, Léontine Compère, 19th Century"
Solid silver goblet-shaped cup. Pearl frieze decoration below the neck with a flower decoration on a guilloche background around the edge. In the center is visible a cartouche surrounded by plants. Minerva hallmark and goldsmith's hallmark: “VE” running rabbit “EC”, Compère Léontine Widow of Ernest Compère. c.1890. Hallmark inscribed on October 12 and 23, 1888 and crossed out on October 3, 1919 at 79 rue Quincampoix in Paris. Silver net weight: 122 gr. From the late 19th century. Good general condition.
