Description: This splendid pair of still lifes, created in Naples in the early 18th century, reflects the influence of the school of Gasparo Lopez (1677, Naples - ca. 1730), one of the most renowned Neapolitan painters of this genre. Lopez, known as "Gasparro dei fiori" for his mastery of floral compositions, is famous for harmoniously combining flowers, fruit, and objects in compositions that highlight the contrast between vibrant colors and the skillful use of light. He worked between Naples and Florence, and his works are found in important Italian and European collections.
These two canvases exhibit all the typical characteristics of Lopez's style: a balanced composition, refined use of color, and great attention to the details of the flowers and fruit. The frames are made of lacquered wood. The decorative power of these paintings is remarkable, and the fact that they are offered as a pair increases their artistic and collectible value.
